Citrix Branch Repeater
Citrix Branch Repeater is a WAN optimization solution that accelerates application delivery to branch office users while dramatically reducing WAN bandwidth requirements and simplifying branch IT infrastructure. Branch Repeater dramatically increases productivity by providing a high definition user experience over any network. Branch Repeater also reduces costs by improving utilization of existing WAN bandwidth and by streamlining branch IT start-up and management.
The Branch Repeater product family addresses the full range of WAN optimization scenarios and delivers unparalleled application acceleration benefits—especially for Citrix XenApp.
Unlike traditional WAN optimization solutions, only Branch Repeater incorporates Citrix HDX technologies to optimize virtual application delivery. With the new HDX IntelliCache technologies for XenApp, Branch Repeater provides local caching and de-duplication across multiple XenApp (ICA) user sessions and local staging of XenApp streamed applications. And with the new HDX Broadcast technologies, Branch Repeater delivers groundbreaking new adaptive orchestration capabilities for XenApp, sensing real-time network and traffic conditions, and dynamically optimizing delivery to branch offices. Together these capabilities deliver breakthrough ICA acceleration and allow IT to support up to 4X more XenApp users in each branch office without upgrading network bandwidth.
Branch Repeater also provides application acceleration benefits for other centralized applications delivered to the branch office including file sharing, e-mail and enterprise Web applications. Only Branch Repeater optimizes the delivery of hosted (ICA), streamed and native applications, thereby helping customers accelerate their IT consolidation initiatives while ensuring a high-performance experience in the branch office. To further enable consolidation within the branch, Branch Repeater with Windows Server® delivers essential branch IT services such as file, print, authentication, and core network services such as DHCP and DNS, all provided by Microsoft Windows Server.
