Corporate Social Responsibility

True to our social obligations and responsibilities

At IT Force, a core value states that;

'We are a responsible business. We conduct our operations in a responsible manner with consideration for our customers, community, colleagues and the environment'.

In line with this, we recognise our corporate obligations and responsibilities and are committed to fulfilling them.  We take a responsible approach to environmental issues and are proactive in seeking innovative ways in which to become more efficient. In addition, we believe that a commitment to supporting the development of the wider community is an important part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Community we live in

Our Lady's Hospice and Care Services, Harold's Cross, Dublin 6

Our September Bake Sale, raised funds to help to support the vital services at Our Lady's Hospice & Care Services, Harold's Cross, Dublin 6.

All donations to Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Dublin 6 benefit the patients, through the funding of frontline services, the funding of essential maintenance programmes and spending on capital projects.  The services offered by the Hospice include Palliative Care, the Community Reablement Programme, Anna Gaynor House and the RMDU.

Change for Charity

IT Force are supporting ‘Change for Charity’, an Ireland based nationwide campaign that is asking people to donate 1c and 2c coins to support a number of Irish charities.

All monies donated will be divided equally between Saint Vincent de Paul, Our Lady's Hospice & Care Services and St Francis Hospice, Irish Autism Action, the Irish Heart Foundation and Gaisce the President's Awards. Additionally, a portion of the money will be reserved for smaller charities, community projects, and youth groups who would like to apply for smaller amounts of funding at the end of the campaign.

Children’s Medical and Research Foundation, Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin 12

IT Force is proud to support the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation. The Children’s Medical & Research Foundation has been at the heart of Irish paediatric care, dedicated to the improvement of children’s health since 1965. Previous fundraising initiatives include a Firewalk Challenge Fundraiser that raised €15,000 for the CMRF.

Monies raised by IT Force have been used to help upgrade the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in St John’s Ward of Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin. For children with cancer whose bodies aren’t creating the healthy blood cells that they rely on, Bone Marrow Transplant is a critical and hugely delicate procedure. It’s an intensive, challenging treatment, and the child’s young life hangs in the balance. In Ireland there are on average 150 children diagnosed yearly with cancer and approximately 30 BMT performed yearly.

The Children's Medical & Research Foundation has one simple mission-helping kids and their families. The CMRF wants patients and their families to walk through the doors of Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin and have access to the very best facilities and equipment. And, when the doctors and nurses and clinicians investigate the causes and treatments of illnesses and disease at the National Children's Research Centre that they have the best labs and equipment at their disposal to continue to narrow the distance between what might seem impossible today to delivering tomorrow's cures.

A few words from CMRF:
'On behalf of The Children’s Medical & Research Foundation, Crumlin we would like to thank the staff and supporters of IT Force and Redco who took part in a Firewalk challenge on behalf of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.  The staff raised a staggering €15,000 on behalf of the children attending St. John’s Ward, the Cancer ward at Our Lady’s and we are immensely grateful for this incredible contribution.'

The Environment we live in

IT Force has adopted a formal Green strategy that requires us to scrutinise internal operations and adopt greener approaches to doing business and running our organisation. This relates to employee commuting, business travel, waste management and adopting more eco-friendly business operations (e.g. printing, procurement, switching to greener suppliers).

Commuting and Business Travel

Due to our central location, IT Force staff utilise the public transport network as much as possible instead of relying on private transportation.  The company heavily promotes the TaxSaver initiative to employees to encourage them to adopt public transport more often. Staff also make use of the Dublin Bike scheme for short, scheduled trips around client sites.  We deliver 70-80% of our core services via remote technology and support or via staff based on client sites.

Printing and Paper Reduction

IT Force implemented a print management strategy to reduce the amount of printing devices, eliminate unnecessary printing and foster duplex printing and the smarter use of printing resources across the company. As part of a green-switch programme with our suppliers, we also purchase recycled paper and have vastly reduced the amount we use on a given month.
