Windows Server 2003

Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 ends in July.

If your business is operating Windows Server 2003, Microsoft will cease their support for this server from July 14th, 2015.  No more security patches will be released, and your computer and network could become vulnerable to malicious software. You will also be subjected to compliance issues as a result of running outdated software.

There are a number of options open to you, such as upgrading your server hardware, a move to a cloud solution, or a combination of both.

The hybrid solution with some cloud

The hybrid solution is suited to businesses that are operating on high-power workstations, run the software on their own servers, or require access to their data at the highest speed possible.  Upgrading from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2012 or SQL Server 2014 will make the IT environment safer, more flexible and more reliable.

Once the hardware has been upgraded, cloud solutions can help you to transform specific areas of the business.  Using Azure for online backups can save you on the costs and the hassle of local tape or disk based backups, while securing your data and business with enterprise-grade protection, ensuring business continuity. With Office 365 you can access your data and work efficiently from any device.

The hybrid solution with more cloud

This solution is ideal for businesses that have a requirement for constant server uptime, with a guaranteed uptime of 99.95% from the Microsoft data center servers.

Windows Server 2012 makes the IT environment more flexible, reliable and secure.  With Azure, data storage, backup, and recovery become more efficient and economical. It’s also easier to build applications that span both on-premises and the cloud. You can quickly scale up or down to match demand, so you only pay for what you use. With Office 365 you can access your data and work efficiently from any device.

The Cloud only solution

The cloud only solution is ideal if you don’t want the burden of managing your IT infrastructure.

Your business will benefit from reduced costs with a cloud only solution eliminating the need for servers, storage and backup.  You pay for the services that you need and it is very easy to scale up or down.
Azure is the only major cloud platform ranked by Gartner as an industry leader for both infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). This powerful combination of managed and unmanaged services lets you build, deploy, and manage applications any way you like for unmatched productivity. With Office 365 you can access your data and work efficiently from any device.
