Managed ICT Services - Set Your Business Free

This is a sentiment that Roisin Cahill, a director with IT Force, said she agrees with, adding that business process engineering is also a factor, alongside cost reduction.

“While cost will remain an important factor in the decision process behind a company embracing managed services, many are also now looking at the bigger picture. They now see and understand how IT can help both to enable and transform their business,” she said.

“Companies are more aware that they need strong IT support staff and infrastructure to protect the business from the increase in risk from hackers, malware, downtime and natural disasters.

“However, capacity within most organisations does not allow for this type of advanced IT management and this is essentially the beauty of managed services — all of the resources and information necessary is available and is provided for the client’s business when required.”

IT Force offers a range of IT solutions that support and manage an organisation’s IT infrastructure, and its clients operate in a range of markets, including professional services, finance, government, media and communications, retail, real estate, pharmaceutical and engineering.

“With an increasingly mobile workforce, security and compliance are becoming major considerations for our customers. Also, the adoption of cloud technologies is having a major impact on how IT services are being delivered,” said Cahill.

“This shifts the focus away from managing IT infrastructure, which is now managed by the cloud provider, and allows us to focus more on providing strategic advice on what IT can do for the company.”

The various services IT Force offers each client depends on that client’s needs. For some, that’s simple assistance with a single aspect of their IT activities — for others it’s a complete replacement IT department as a service.

“It varies from company to company. For example, in some cases, we work with in-house IT departments to ensure that top-quality IT infrastructure is in place to support the business. In this event, we deliver specific services and expertise as and when they are needed,” she said.

“In other cases when there is no IT department, we operate as an outsourced IT department.

“We look after those organisation’s IT needs, provide a highly qualified and skilled technical team on demand, offer unlimited remote and onsite support and access to a wide array of skills and ongoing IT consultancy.”
